Combat Robotics
What is combat robotics? It is where teams/individuals build fighting robots within one of the weight classes: .33 lb (fairy), 1lb (ant), 3lb (beetle) and more. Battle Bots is one of the larger weight classes of combat robotics. Through Rose-Hulman, I work with two 3lb robots: Anomaly and Wareo. I also am part of Deep Dive Robotics, a personal team with other students from Rose-Hulman. I currently working on an 1lb robot through Deep-Dive.
Robots
Anomaly
Rose-Hulman
3lb
Anomaly is a 4-wheel vertical spinner. It has been with Rose-Hulman since 2018. It most recently competed at NHRL, and got into the tournament bracket, winning a total of 3 matches.
Wareo
Rose-Hulman
3lb
Wareo is a Shell spinner, meaning the outside shell spins around the main body of the robot. It competed at NHRL in January. It's name is a play on words being a "War-Oreo"
Ric-Rac
Deep Dive
1lb
Ric-Rac competed in match, going 0-2. It had issues with it's weapon spinning [probably from old electronics]. I plan on redesigning the robot to improve issues it has.
Smol
Personal
3lb
Smol is a 3lb robot based on the BattleBot HUGE. While building the robot, I reached out to the people who made HUGE, as well as the people who made Starchild [another large wheel BattleBot]. They both provided me with some insightful advice for designing.
